The Good Very Old Days

  1. It is great to see the beauty and the simplicity. Now things are hyped up. I like the big wheels.

  2. There is something cool about equipment this primitive. Roads were mostly terrible, the machines were unreliable and dangerous, but some people made their own spares in their garages and we were learning how to build stuff.

  3. Wow, those guys were doing 90 mph on dirt with hard-tails and springer forks. Plenty of dust and no helmets. Spectators right on the track. And over 200 miles!

Disagree? Bring it on. Have more to add? Feel free to set me straight. Unfortunately, Blogger doesn't do a great job of figuring out which Anonymous commenters are actually real people, not Russians or Chinese bots. I'm pretty ruthless about spam-labeling anonymous posts. If you have something worth saying, you shouldn't be afraid of using your ID.
