I check the comments on this blog regularly. The idea is that we're going to have a conversation about the ideas I've presented. You should be aware of the fact that when someone emails me an interesting comment, the odds are good that I'll post that in the comments anonymously and reply to that comment on the blog rather than in email.

I can't believe I missed this
Evel Knievel was the god of crashing while doing backyard stunts and Robbie Maddison has erased all memory of lame motorcycle stunts.

I talked with Maddison on the phone after the Vegas tower jump. He has a staff physicist, they use instrumentation, and that 98-foot tower jump was practiced by use of a tower at the Red Bull Tech Center whose height could be increased incrementally. He told me he wants to "live big", which I took to mean he wasn't interested in pro MX, &c. Big pay-offs, right now, with some chance of having two good knees once the bank calls to say his account's full.
