Downhills are a blast as is flat or gradual uphills. Comfort-wise, there is no comparison. The recumbent wins, absolutely. I'm old, right? After a long (15-25 mile) ride, my back is killing me on my mountain bike. I feel like I've had physical therapy and a massage after the same ride on the recumbent. T.W. The underseat steering is very relaxing, whilst the overseat is preferred for its aerodynamic advantage. The balance feedback is differen,t although they're actually easier to balance. If you ride uprights you have to unlearn/re-learn. Novices often get it faster.

Hill ascents are slower, but you more than make up for it on descents due to the vastly superior stability. I won't ride an upright any more, too unstable and too uncomfortable!

Recumbents were banned from competition by the UCI in 1933 as too much of an advantage. How do you find it compares to a traditional bike for comfort now that you seem to have it dialed in.

Do you think you can go further with less effort?
