  2. There is something cool about equipment this primitive. Roads were mostly terrible, the machines were unreliable and dangerous, but some people made their own spares in their garages and we were learning how to build stuff.

  3. Wow, those guys were doing 90 mph on dirt with hard-tails and springer forks. Plenty of dust and no helmets. Spectators right on the track. And over 200 miles!
