It was the performance we were achieving back then, even on Lead acid batteries that encouraged him.

The Lightning LS218 may be ouf of the reach of most at $38,000+, but a production spec machine was the fastest motorcycle of any kind up Pikes Peak a few years ago.

It has a street range of about 150 miles.

I've been eyeing up the battery pack from a crashed VW Golf GTE (plug in hybrid) that's on ebay. I converted a Cagiva Freccia C9 some years ago (suposedly briefly test ridden by Carl Foggerty some time after I sold it) and I have a C12 waiting in the wings.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14656863275325115557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5950664143576637249.post-2731495227055618422017-04-25T21:20:02.742-05:002017-04-25T21:20:02.742-05:00Gene, you rock. I know they tweaked the power curve the next year and most reviewers loved it. I just don't expect to be riding 5 years from now, let alone long enough to justify (to myself) that kind of investment. If I were 55, probably.T.W. I have a Zero SR and I couldn't care less about the price of gas or being green or whatever.

I just love the incredible performance and handling. It's like a 250 dirtbike with a GSXR motor in it, only it magically didn't get any bigger or heavier.

My poor FJR just sits. I'm 55 years old, been riding 28 years and it's the most fun I've ever had.

Yeah, it was hard to justify the cost, but riding it is like crack. I just gotta have it.

I'm expecting Musk's battery gigafactory to help costs in a decade or so.

And FYI, you don't even need a USB port to tweak it. Just use the phone app over Bluetooth.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01279067827242015511noreply@blogger.com
